When disasters strike, we respond.

In 2019, Dorian became a historic Category 5 storm as it pounded the Bahamas with devastating wind, rain, and storm surge. Dorian caused about $3.4 billion in damages, which is equal to one-quarter of The Bahamas' GDP. The current death toll stands at 74 people, with 63 from Abaco and 22 from Grand Bahama, although 245 people are still missing. We may not be able to do everything, but we can do something when disasters strike.

Together, we’re saving lives.

There are three primary needs when disasters strike: rescue, relief, and restoration.

Rescue

Rescue is focused on saving lives. When disasters strike, local organizations begin the critical work of helping those affected to safety. Though we are not always able to be there, we activate resources to keep the rescue efforts continuing.

Relief

From trucks full of water to trucks full of non-perishable goods, diapers, and more, sending relief to the region is costly. We partner with on-the-ground organizations who are actively involved in sending relief to expedite efforts in getting items to those affected in a timely manner.

Restore

Natural disasters require repairs, rebuilding, and returning those affected to self-sufficiency. The need for greater help in the region has increased our involvement in the areas of feeding, repairs, refurbishing, distributions, and crisis counseling.

What can we do?

Even when you’re prepared, disasters still can cause loss. We want to provide hope, resources, and relief to those affected. In times of crisis, we partner with local organizations to help optimize and maximize relief efforts. We seek to be a part of the solution, and also send resources and support to meet the needs of the people.
